Digital Lucency was founded by Dr. Michael Barnes, a practicing dentist with more than twenty years of patient care experience — someone who's lived the workday this is built to improve. It comes from a forward-looking belief: as AI becomes part of everyday dentistry, it has to be shaped by the people who actually do the work — the clinicians and staff in the operatory and the patients they care for — rather than imposed from outside it. That principle drives everything we build. Our aim is to quietly lift the repetitive, time-consuming parts of the day off your team, so the hours go where they matter — to care, and to the people in the chair. What exists today is an early step toward something far more ambitious, and we're shaping it in the open, alongside the practices who use it.
